ACRYLIC ON CANVAS WITH RESIN
Liz's earlier work was predominantly acrylic on canvas. One of Liz's unique approaches is to add mixed medium to her paint, such as sand for texture or finish with a resin overlay. This creates a dynamic effect that is unique, enhancing the original presentation and providing extra impact to the subject.
WATERCOLOUR
Liz's debut collection in 2016 was all done using watercolours. Liz at one point had a two-year waiting list for commissions of pets in her iconic watercolour style. Liz would often finish with splashes of paint to add a dynamic mud-like effect to add colour to bring the setting to life.
OILS
Liz's later work is predominantly using oils on canvas. This is a lengthier process and thus a collection takes longer to complete. Liz favours this medium for her human portraits as the softness is more realistic for the shadows of the skin.
SCULPTURES
Liz has done a number of sculptures using clay, wire and resin. Liz finds the raw, jagged texture of wire particularly effective for demonstrating a raw emotion or providing impact for a message. Liz has used resin in countless of her paintings and sculptures and adds a layer of animation to an inanimate object for impact.
